When the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent
de Paul founded St. Vincent Medical Center, Los Angeles was still known
as El Pueblo de Nuestra Seņora la Reina de Los Angeles. Today, with a
reputation for excellence matched only by our reputation as the city's
first hospital, we continually practice state-of-the-art medicine. We
have grown into a 347-bed regional acute and referral care center. Our
staff includes 610 physicians, more than 1,180 employees, and nearly 200
volunteers working throughout the medical center to assist in the care
of each patient. Individually, and always with one goal: to heal. That's
our primary mission.
Our specialty service lines are multi-organ transplantation, heart care,
treatment of ear and hearing disorders, cancer research and treatment,
and spine care.
